Are you passionate about environmental issues and creating social engagement? Do you want to work actively in your everyday life to counter ocean pollution? Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark is a voluntary environmental collective dedicated to take care of the ocean.


Cleanup coordinator

We are looking for volunteer cleanup coordinators. You will have a great amount of responsibility and creative freedom and therefore we are looking for passionate and proactive volunteers.

Specific Requests and Information

We are looking for cleanup coordinators all over Denmark. As a cleanup coordinator you will arrange ocean cleanups in your local area together with your Nordic Ocean Watch teammates. You will occasionally coordinate with other organisations and companies and also the municipality and other public instances to arrange a cleanup. Therefore we are looking for someone who is outgoing and with good communication skills, who is responsible and can plan and carry out tasks independently. Experience with project coordination is a plus, but not a requirement.

Minimum Commitment

The workload varies during the year, but expect 3-5 hours a week. NOW is a volunteer organisation and all work is carried out on a volunteer basis.


Social Media Coordinator

We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator who can help us document our work through our social media channels.

Specific requests and information

As a Social Media Coordinator you will be part of our awesome social media team. You will be managing our social media channels, so experience with different online platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn is a requirement. You will be responsible for creating a regular publishing schedule and promoting relevant content, monitoring analytics and quickly react to trends. You will be in charge of social media campaigns and stories. Visual communication and storytelling are important to us and therefore we are looking for someone with good writing and storytelling skills who is creative and with a good sense of a visual branding to engage the audience.


Minimum Commitment

The workload varies throughout the year, but expect around 3-5 hours a week. NOW is a volunteer organisation and all work is carried out on a volunteer basis.

Knowledge sharing

We are looking for a new team member to educate and inspire our Ocean Watchers about the marine environment.

Specific requests and information

We are looking for a new team member to join our knowledge sharing team and who would like to educate and inspire our Ocean Watchers about the marine environment and ocean pollution. As part of our team you will work in close collaboration with our two marine biologists, as well as have your own independent tasks. We are looking for someone who are studying or have a background within oceanography, environmental or marine science or similar.

Work tasks will include writing articles and blog posts regarding the extent and consequences of ocean pollution. Furthermore you will take part in developing our educational programme regarding marine environment and ocean pollution. We expect that you have a strong interest in the ocean environment and that you are good at formulating complicated related subjects in an easily digestible language, in both danish and english.    


Minimum Commitment

Our expectations is 2 hours a week. The workload varies during the year. NOW is a volunteer organisation and all work is carried out on a volunteer basis.
