EXPEDITIONS

Marine pollution research and education

In Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark we organise research expeditions in collaboration with schooners and tall ships as well as environmental organisations to study the extent and effects of pollution in the ocean. Aside from scientific research, a key part of our expeditions is education and activation, which we do through lectures on board, cleanups ashore, workshops, inclusion of students in our expeditions, and other initiatives. Our research is centred around the idea that citizen science approaches can produce meaningful, valid results. In this way, we are able to include more people from different backgrounds in our work. Below, you’ll find blogs from our previous expeditions, and information about upcoming expeditions and ways to join when they become available.
